Man In The Middle

Man in the Middle (MitM) is a type of attack that works by infiltrating the middle of the "conversation" between the victim and the intended server. So, often the victim does not realize when the attack is happening to him. Man in the Middle is a serious attack that threatens users of financial applications and other websites with login credentials, which can lead to huge losses.

Evil Twin

Evil Twin is similar to Man in the Middle, this attack is a network commonly used by users created by hackers. The goal is that users accidentally connect to the network so that hackers can freely provide phishing or even make users provide their personal information data.

Unencrypted Network

Even though users connect to official websites via HTTPS using a valid network, hackers can still read and monitor the browsing history performed by users. This is because the domain name system (DNS) used is not properly encrypted, usually this case is common in public Wifi. Even though hackers cannot see the specific page and the information entered, hackers can still find out what sites users have visited.

With the many risks lurking, that doesn't mean you have to completely avoid using public wifi. Because there are still ways to overcome these risks by using VPNs, software updates, and 2-way authentication to using smartphones as hotspots.
