Goodbye Windows 8.1?
After some time ago Microsoft made a surprising announcement by discontinuing Internet Explorer, now Microsoft has made a similar announcement regarding their product. The product is Windows 8.1, Microsoft plans to stop the service from Windows 8.1 after the release of Windows 11. Then when will windows 8.1 be retired?
Windows 8.1 which debuted for the first time in 2016 will be retired by Microsoft, Microsoft said the operating system will be retired in 2023. Meanwhile, laptops or computers that still use Windows 8.1 are advised by Microsoft to immediately change to Windows 11 for their convenience.
According to Microsoft, Windows 8.1 will no longer receive updates or updates on January 10, 2023. Although after passing the predetermined date Windows 8.1 can still be used and run but Microsoft recommends no longer using the operating system. Not without reason Microsoft suggests this, because if later it continues to use the operating system version it can cause problems in performance and reliability over time. This does not mean that the operating system prevents you from increasing FPS but because the absence of updates again makes some Windows 8.1 sectors fragile, for example, security and application installation.
Although there are no longer many who use Windows 8.1, because users of the system the remaining operations are only about 3%. As for the highest and most widely used is Windows 10 with 71.82%. What is more surprising is that the second place is not Windows 11 but Windows 7 with a figure of around 13%.
Windows 11 is starting to develop and even so there are not many enthusiasts, but with the retirement of Windows 8.1 Microsoft hopes to boost the number of Windows 11 users for the operating system.
