Diagnose Lung Conditions With Just An App?
Lung conditions can now be diagnosed without having to go to the hospital, whether the cough is an indication of lung disease or not. With advances in technology this is not impossible, so what and how do we detect it?
Alodokter announced its new feature that can diagnose 6 different lung conditions just by detecting cough sounds. This feature is a new breakthrough from their application. The six conditions that can be detected are lung infection, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), URI, whooping cough, and bronchitis. This feature has an accuracy between 87%-97% and it can be said that it is almost as accurate as a conventional examination.
In order to realize this feature, Alodokter collaborated with ResApp, which is a digital health diagnosis technology company from Australia. This technology was developed by matching the characteristics of cough sounds with clinical diagnoses.
The company has been accredited in Indonesia and Australia. With the realization of this feature, Alodokter became the first telemedicine company in Asia to provide access to this relatively new technology to the general public.
"What makes this technology different is that you don't need to use an additional device, just use the smartphone you have. You just have to cough near the smartphone, then within a few seconds, our doctors can immediately know the diagnosis automatically from the system, "said Suci Arumsari as President Director of Alodokter.
"With the realization of this technology, it is easier for doctors to diagnose more diseases and provide treatment more efficiently remotely, and help patients deal with health problems more quickly without leaving the house," added Suci.
The technology has been certified by the Indonesian Ministry of Health and accredited for use in Europe and Australia. This feature can be accessed in Indonesia using the Alodokter application.
